O SINA (Sindicato Nacional dos Aeroportuários) e a IFAIMA (Federação Internacional de Associações de Gestão de Informação Aeronáutica), em apoio aos trabalhadores da navegação aérea e do setor aéreo como um todo, repudiam a perseguição e demissão de lideranças sindicais e de outros 19 aeronautas da companhia aérea Wizzair, de Bucareste, na Romênia.
As demissões foram uma resposta autoritária à união dos trabalhadores, visando a criação de um sindicato para lutar por direitos trabalhistas, como escala de trabalho, onze horas de intervalo entre os turnos e o cumprimento da regulamentação internacional.
O Sina integra entidades como a ITF, IFATCA e IFAIMA, com uma participação cada vez mais importante no cenário internacional, na luta em defesa do trabalhador, e por isso tem também um papel de participar de questões internacionais relacionadas à aviação, como esta dos trabalhadores de Bucareste.
O apoio mútuo entre as entidades sindicais de diferentes países amplia as forças da classe trabalhadora no mundo, em defesa de direitos e do cumprimento das normas para o setor.

Dear Colleagues,
We are contacting you once again regarding the support of the dismissed trade union leadership and 19 cabin crew members from Wizzair in Bucharest (Romania). As we have informed you late November, the ETF and ETUC have launched a LabourStart campaign to support the fight of our colleagues from Sindicatul Aerolimit.
To date, this campaign has gathered approx. 9,100 signatures, but we are aiming at least at 10,000. The support from individual countries has been very different – from over 1,500 (United Kingdom) to just a few signatures (several CEE countries). However, the number of signatures does not reflect by far our real strength!
Therefore, we are relaunching the call to sign the petition and support the dismissed Wizzair colleagues. Wizz Air is a low-cost airline based in Central and Eastern Europe that proudly says on its website “we believe that people make all the difference”.
They add that the company “believes in high ethical standards driven by an excellent team-player approach”.
But that “ethical” approach doesn’t include trade unions.
Earlier this year, a couple of courageous cabin crew members decided to set up a trade union at Wizz Air.
One month after founding the union its president Mircea Constantin was fired on false disciplinary grounds.
The vice president and secretary of the trade union, Claudiu Bita and Denisa Chelu, have been suspended claiming that their union involvement makes them a safety hazard.
That’s right: the company is saying that being a union member is a “safety hazard”.
The CEO of Wizz Air, who founded the company a decade ago, says he’ll never accept unions in his company.
Earlier this month, 19 union members at Wizz Air lost their jobs.
